![]() "It's certainly logical marketing from NRS. Point is we dont really care who fills raidens spot just not a MK char since were getting SZ. Raidens spot should go to Static, Black Lightning, Killer Croc, Orca, Man Shark, Ras Al Ghul, Azrial (sp), Constantine, Rorschach, Spawn, Or a TMNT. SZ is awesome and I am sure I am going to enjoy playing him and customizig him and I was stoked he made the game (since he was rumored to be in IJGAU based on source code) but again that should be it. ![]() And also as stated I (and many others) wouldnt mind it so much if he appeared as a premiere skin over say static or black lightning. And i like raiden too but the DC roster is far to large and there are other guest characters from other sources that could also have been used. If raiden does indeed make it into the game (which based on silhouettes he is) thats one to many. Most are cool with SZ joining the roster, but thats where it should stop. Its not so much hes a mk character or that hes the one were getting. Ive made the argument many time in this situation. Anyone who doesn't realize that is being silly. It's certainly logical marketing from NRS. ![]() I'm willing to bet that if you could survey all the Injustice 2 players, you'd find that more than half are glad to see an MK character as an option. So I'd like to suggest that all the complaining about Sub Zero making the roster over another DC character (which is flawed logic to begin with- no one ever said NRS would have made another DC character if they hadn't made Sub Zero) is a vocal minority. He looks fun, he looks like a good match-up for numerous people, and with gear, we can probably assume the ability to match many (if not all) of his classic attires (and maybe that of other NRS ninjas). Sub Zero, now that we've seen his trailer, looks pretty much like what is a best case scenario for him. Many Injustice fans- not all, mind you, but many- are also MK fans. Someone posted a survey the other day, and Sub Zero was among the most popular fighting game characters (along with Scorpion and Raiden from NRS games). The sequel was announced in June of this year, targeting a release date sometime in 2017.Okay, I've been thinking on this for a few days, and I just want to put it out there. This would be a first for both in the Injustice franchise, which is set amid a conflict between the familiar DCU and an alternate timeline where a tragic event involving The Joker has lead to Superman and several other heroes taking on dark, authoritarian personas and exacting lethal justice. Spawn has appeared as a Mortal Kombat guest star in the past, while Sub-Zero has encountered the DC Universe superheroes previously in Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe. Spawn, an undead zombie superhero who draws his power from hell itself, was created by Todd MacFarlane and enjoyed massive but short-lived success as a comic and merchandising behemoth in the mid to late-1990s. In fact, his infamous spine-removal fatality was perhaps the most iconic gore effect from the original game. Are you sure? ) /9Hsfi8JzOu- Ed Boon November 18, 2016Īn ice-powered ninja traditionally clad in a blue uniform and cast as the opposite-number of undead fire-powered ninja Scorpion, Sub-Zero has been one of the most popular Mortal Kombat characters since the series' inception. When offered the choice of comic book superheroes Spawn, Hellboy, iconic movie cyborg The Terminator and TV vampire-hunter Buffy, a 45 percent majority of responders asked for Spawn to join the roster. ![]() The other poll, however, came back slightly less lopsided. According to Boon, perennial M ortal Kombat "mascot" Sub-Zero won his poll handily, beating out Raiden, Johnny Cage and Jax:Īlmost 20,000 of you spoke and it seems like Subzero would be your choice of an MK guest character in Injustice 2. Boon asked fans to respond to a pair of polls about the game's development, seeking their input as to which character from the Mortal Kombat franchise might make a guest appearance in the game via DLC and which character from another franchise entirely might appear as well, with four options for each. ![]()
